A+ Printer, Great Job building a solid kit printer Tevo
I want to start by saying Thanks Tevo for listening to all your Original Tevo Tarantula owners when updating the printer. I have been running the original tarantula for over 2 years now and it has been a great workhorse. I liked that kit as it was my first 3d printer and being in kit form lets you learn about your printer during the building but the Tarantula Pro is at a different level. The all metal part setup (minus the acrylic end stop mounts and 3d printed rod bearing holder) was a great upgrade so gone are the days of needing to print a slew of upgrades as your first prints. With that said on to the ReviewPros:All metal setupUpgradeable control boardHot Bed Strain reliefpackagingAnd of course priceBeing a Kit it allows you to learn about your printer during buildCons:This is a kit (might not be suited for all users)instructions did skim over a few items but nothing to hard to figure outI know I put the fact that this is a kit as a pro on con but it is all in how you look at it. Would this be the right printer for my 10 year old daughter? (No) is this the perfect kit for me (very much so yes) I have build the Tevo Original kit and a desktop CNC machine from a kit. This is basically an upgraded tinkertoy for an adult like me. I loved building it and for someone that is handy with tools the whole setup took me just over 2hrs. So if you love building things and want to know how your printer works I highly recommend this printer. Also if your looking to get into 3d printing and you want to do so on a budget I would say for the price you would be hard pressed to find a printer as well thought out as this one. They listened to all the upgrades people have been doing to the original and rolled out this pro model. To me it stands up to the name as compared to the original this is a huge improvement. I know it doesn’t have a few of the features some other printers have (filament run out sensor, leveling probe or power failure resume) But it is upgradeable for some of those (not sure if marlin can do power failure resume but is already setup for the other two above features)Summary: So in a nut shell this is a great all around printer, The price is great, The build quality is spot on. The instructions and packaging were great and the print quality is very good. (Yes I did see some artifacts but I am sure most can be fixed with speed and feed) I would recommend this to anyone that likes hands on items. Great job TevoPSAlso my PSU came with the upgraded cable size so tevo is still updating the product. In addition check out the Tevo Tarantula owners facebook page. Its a good group of users that can help with questions. In addition you can download newer versions of the firmware to keep your printer current.Lastly I did reach out to Tech Support and they were quick to respond and kind so kudos to them for that as well.

Updated: Great printer on a budget! What are you waiting on?
The media could not be loaded.  This is a great little printer for the money. It does require assembly, but you can watch ruiraptor’s assembly video on YouTube if you want, or you can use the assembly manual (PDF) that is included on the SD card. I really enjoyed the accuracy of ruiraptor’s video, so it really helped. The great thing about Tevo is that they have a really good social media presence, so it’s not hard to get help from other users in places like Facebook and Reddit. I would highly encourage you to join those groups and ask all the questions you have. Most Tevo users are more than happy to help others. I’ve attached a video of my new Tevo Tarantula printing, as well as a picture of several models I printed with it after assembling. What are you waiting on? Go order this printer and have fun!Update:I’ve now had this printer for about three weeks. My initial tests gave me great quality results. After trying larger models, the quality went way down. There is a ton of Z banding and the quality was quite bad. I’ve been trying for three weeks to get a good print from this thing. I can’t. It’s just not good. It makes me sad because it is a nice looking little printer.

Great first printer, Great platform for upgrades.
Let me start by saying, this is not my first 3d printer, however it is my first from Tevo. The Tarantula Pro was packaged nicely. The parts bags are grouped by step, which makes assembly easy and clear. The wiring is all bundled together already for the hot end and the bed which makes those super easy to hook up. I like the high visibility of the bed leveling wheels, and they included stiffer springs from the get go. The main board that is included has removable (and therefore upgrade-able) stepper drivers and an unused port (room for dual z or dual color extrusion). The extruder included is above the average for this price range as it resembles the Titan extruder, and has preformed well so far. The print quality out of the box is as good or better than my other printer that I've had for over a year.If your looking for a first printer, and are not afraid to assemble it, get this printer. If your considering buying a different printer, and think you may upgrade its mainboard in the future, get this one instead as this has replaceable steppers without a new board ($30+), and it already has 256k storage. The only Con I can come up with, and its more preference, is that the build plate is not removable, and it did not come with a spool holder, and I didn't want to print the one they included on the SD card.

Solid performer for the price
A definite upgrade over the original Tevo Tarantula.Assembly was straightforward - there is no manual included in the box but a quick google search for "tevo tarantula pro assembly instructions" pointed me to assembly instructions as well as a build video from Tevo's website. (I believe there is also a QR code included in the box that takes you to the manuals.) Assembly took about 3.5 hours. All small parts are individually bagged for each step of the build process, so you only have the parts you need at any given time - Much better than one single bag of hardware that you have to sort through to find a specific screw or washer. Frame parts fit together snug and square, which makes alignment and bed leveling much easier. (Nothing worse than trying to level the print bed when the frame is out of square!)Test print went smoothly; the hotend included with this printer is capable of faster print speeds than the original Tarantula. Dual layer cooling fans are included as well, so there is very little modding required for good quality prints. The Z-axis lead screw is supported at both ends for smoother Z axis operation. For the price, I am extremely satisfied with how this printer performs. It's a great starter kit for people who like to build.
