Who said it couldn't be done, (fun).
Keep. It. Simple. Stupid. This is not a simple watch. The engineer and design team at Amazfit did NOT fool around when creating an affordable and user friendly watch that has all the pazzaz and gusto, (looks included) of an Apple Watch. For me, when I see all of the apps, (little dots) populating the fancier smart watches it seems overwhelming to program the interface.Keep. It. Simple. Stupid. You'll get all you need from this wristop computer. My personal favorite is the sleep tracking which includes sleep hyponea frequency, (shallow breathing). A warning sign for sleep apnea. Sleep score. As well as sleep regularity. You got a whale of a deal in the Amazfit Bip 3 Pro.

Great entry level device, outstanding customer support
I purchased this watch to get my feet wet in better tracking my exercise activity as a result of a count-your-steps challenge at work. I was having issues understanding the syncing with Zepp, Google Fit and the app my employer was using. I was considering sending the watch back since I wasn't getting accurate step counts and contacted support. The response was super helpful, prompt and comprehensive. No drama. Issue fixed and on my way. I am starting to get into some of the data in the Zepp app next. I would highly recommend the features for the value and excellent customer support experience for help when its needed.

Only Two Days So Far
May 2025/One Month Use: I am back after a little longer use. I only use this in weekends, so maybe 2-3 times a week. As of right now, it’s on 59% charge - I charged it 26days ago. So really good battery. Even better is that I did a 5k recently and the battery only went down 1% after a full day of usage. I did a “walking workout” during the 5k, but otherwise just tracked steps as normal.I haven’t use the pedometer recently. For the 5k I have ~15,400 iPhone steps and ~16,700 watch steps. The truth is somewhere in the middle. I know I kept my watch with me all day but I don’t remember when exactly I put my phone in my side pocket, so that may be part of the discrepancy. Sometimes the watch has less steps than the phone. But not consistently. I did about 4 miles one day and logged ~13,100 iPhone steps and ~12,000 watch steps. Another time I had ~9,000 iPhone steps and ~8,700 watch steps. Yet another time: ~2,400 iPhone steps and ~3,300 watch steps.Irritatingly during my 5k i remember driving to the site and having too much wrist movement in the car that jumped my steps from 135 to 140. So there’s that type of bloat which I assume is typical of all for watches, but it’s difficult to explain the times where the watch is less than the iPhone steps. Will continue to monitor. Battery is great for a lite user.————————Apr 2025/Two Days: I’d like to come back and update after reasonable use.I purchased this because I’m working to be less sedentary. Primary interests are walking and running - purely to support weight loss. Thus, very accurate fitness tracking is not something I care about outside of steps and mileage. Today I’ve clocked about 3000 steps. I have a pedometer and an iPhone. I have not linked Zepp to my health app specifically so I can monitor the discrepancy in step counting between all devices.Did about 1,000 steps around town. iPhone = 1,000 steps, Bip 3 Pro = 1,014 steps, Pedometer = 994. Discrepancies not too gross.Short few steps from destination to car:iPhone = 65 steps, B3P = 41, Ped = 37. (including for info, but I think something funky happened here)Walking from parking lot to building, about 100ish steps. iPhone = 113, B3P = 114, Ped = 104.Pedometer is generally lower. I always took the pedometer to be accurate since you have to map your stride to the pedometer before you actually use it. However, it looks like the phone and watch are generally in step (haha) with one another. At my level of fitness, these changes are interesting but not a totally show stopping. I hope to switch to the apple watch in the future since i have an iPhone, but did not feel comfortable paying a big price tag as an ultra beginner. The watch is easy to setup. I will realistically only use it a few times a week, as I hate wearing watches. So battery life will be fine. Set up was easy but I didn’t do any pairing of messages or notifications. I don’t want to get notifications through this app, so hopefully that preserves battery for the long term.Earlier today I tried the workout function and ran a total of ~5 minutes. The GPS did not take any real time to position, maybe all of 5-10 seconds. I was running back and forth on the same path and the map was accurate in that sense. It’s nice that it tells you how long you paused vs how long you were active - helpful for beginners. All in all, as a planned lite user, I think it’ll accomplish what I’d like it to. Seems durable. Wrist strap is comfortable, coming from someone that doesn’t like things on their wrist. Size was good - slightly small wrists shouldn’t have issues I don’t think. Weight is comfortable.

Amazfit Bip 5 Smart Watch
Update 6 months in. The Battery on the device is failing. What used to hold a 10+ days is now lasting 5 days. Not sure if it is some update that is bad or its actually badApparently Amazon considers the AMAZFIT 3 Pro and the AMAZFIT 5 the same product so the bottom is my original review of the AMAZFIT 3 Pro while the top is the newer 5.AMAZFIT BIP 5First the Black watch is very grey. I first thought they sent me the wrong one but they don't make a grey model. The face is black but the sides/back and band are medium grey. I hate rubber watch bands and replaced it with a nice black stainless steel band. I expected to do this going in. They provide a cheap grey rubber band like every other watch maker out there.Software interface Zepp. The Zepp interface is very cryptic and hard to use. It takes a lot of time to find what you are looking for as nothing is where you would expect it. After a while you kind of learn it. Once you get the watch setup you will rarely use the Zepp interface. If your into following everything it tracks then that is on the main screen as you enter the app. I cannot say how well it tracks stuff as I really just bought a watch.Watch faces. You would think a smart what would have some good and basic watch faces but in reality the ones include are pretty lame. If you are looking for a watch with hands there are a few good ones. If you are looking for a digital watch they are mostly bad. There is very little you can customize. I ended up using one where I supplied the back ground and you could put one item above like a date and below like the weather. You could not change the color of the print though which means you have to specifically look for backgrounds that will show white text.Getting notifications set correctly is not easy. You will also be double, tipple and quadruple notified of some things like emails or texts. It almost seems like when ever the phone sees a notification even though it is not sent to watch it resends the last message it will send. So you end up being notified of same message over and over again. A few comparisons of the 5 to the 3 Pro. The 5 has a slightly bigger screen. More in look than feel as you would not notice it on your arm. The screen allows more to be shown in messages sent which is helpful. Overall the bigger display is a good thing. It did not get to big as to be giant on the arm. You can answer phone calls on the 5 which you cannot on the 3 pro. That was the main reason I got it. Battery life. I charged it Friday, It is now Wednesday and it is at 51%. There 10 days battery life is a pretty good estimate. I would guess you charge it every weekend and your good. Screen Sensitivity. Operating the screen means you are swiping up down left and right. Down gets you settings, Left or right gets you basic apps and health tracking. if in one of those swiping right is return (which is the only one that really does not work well). Up gets you texts and emails. If you hit the button it will bring up installed apps.Overall I am happy with the purchase. Once setup it works well it just takes a little to get to that point.AMAZFIT BIP 3 ProMy first attempt to buy a smart watch was years ago as a samsung watch and there were just to many issues. It was bulky and batter life as maybe 2 days. So I went back to a real watch because that's all I really needed. Fast forward to 2022 and Black Friday. I picked up the Amazfit Bip 3 Pro for around 50.00.My first impression was it was a good size. My wrists are small and it was in the size range I wanted. It is very light with the included band and a little heavier with my replacement SS band. Really in the range of any watch though. My second thought was on the band. It was a rubberized substance which I really hate. I used it for about a week and decided it was not for me. I was worried but this uses a standard size and there are a lot of bands out there that will fit this on Amazon. I ended up getting a stainless steel replacement for 10.00. and just love it.The Battery life is spot on their estimate. It claimed 14 days. I am past 14 days at 19% power. To me this is good. You can charge it every 2 weeks and not be worried you will run out towards the end.The movement to turn on seems well done. It comes on when you move your wrist to view but really does not come on by just moving your wrist or arm. You will need to remember to turn this feature off at night. You can set times when it is active. I have mine set from 7AM to 11PM and if I need it after that just hit the button. If you don't it will come on when you don't want it to and its bright. There are a minimal number of clock faces. It would be nice if there were more. I actually use the default and have one standard watch face if I want to look fancier. You can get text and email notifications but they are not the best. You cannot reply to anything though. You can answer calls but there is no mic or speaker so it really does you know good. Im not sure I want to look like Dick Tracey and talk into my arm.I don't really use the measuring features as I really just wanted a watch. I have played with them and they seem to be right but I really have no way to tell that.I bought this as a watch and the battery life and screen resolution make this a good choice.Overall I bought this
