Great Value and very helpful!

I don't like some of the questions on the math practice test. For example, take Question #34 on page 602 ...Imtaez works as a server, earns $157 in a night, and gives "y" dollars of it away to pay the food runner, leaving him with $101 + y dollars left over. Write an equation to solve for y.I don't like a question like this because the unknown is contrived. They're not even asking for the unknown, they're asking for the equation to find the unknown, and they only give you 5 boxes to fill in, and the "+y" and "-y" are supposed to fit in one box. But anyway, in algebra we shouldn't make unknowns be the object of inquiry per se. Yes, we use unknowns to solve problems, real problems, but this question in contrived. I don't give "y" dollars to my food runner and then wonder what y is. There should be some other thing that I'm trying to answer that causes me to write an equation in terms of y. I can understand a lesson section teaching how to write equations and set up unknowns, but this isn't a lesson, this is an actual question on the GED practice test. I hope the real GED test doesn't contain questions that are as stupid as a question like this.And don't even get me started on question #31 on page 601. Finding spiders in your apartment? Kind of creepy isn't it? And I would not call the type of chart they are looking for a "line plot". The question is confusingly worded.

I passed all 4 tests at first try!This book has everything you need to prep for GED: lessons, tips, instructions, practice tests in book and online. i used only this book to prep for my tests and some other GED prep websites i could find on the internet and passed all the tests within 5 weeks! Buy this book. you won't need any other.But it needs some updates though, 2018 GED Science test has removed the short answer questions, which is a huge improvement! but the book still prep you for that. i heard it's exactly the same word to word as 2017 version.Also, the Reading questions in the actual Language test is a bit harder than in this book. I think they need to level up a bit to set a realistic standard of what the real test would be.So for that I leave it 4 stars.

Got this for my nephew- the fact that he’s even interested in getting his GED, made me do careful research in the material- it doesn’t disappoint. After informing him how the book works (need to take a pretest in the beginning, review the answers in the back to fully understand the problem if you got it wrong, then use the marked right/wrong answers to input a chart at the beginning of the book, to evaluate yourself & see what you need to focus on). He’s off and running! He is enthusiastic and I’m positive this book will prepare him.

The GED books, including this one, are much lower levels than what are actually being taught in high school math. But this book might help someone passed the test with the minimum grade. If you I've never learned high school math, you need to get an actual algebra 1,Geometry, and Algebra 2 book. These GED books were intended as Refreshers for people who did learn it, but forgot it years later.

I love this book. Hands down buy this book to pass your GED exam. I used this book for my high school equivalency exam and I worked on all the problems and eventually finished the entire book. Then I went to go take my exam and I passed and I got accepted into a university. I am very grateful for this textbook.

The person I bought this for used it once and then let it collect dust. They said it was easy, but apparently actually taking your GED isn't.I helped them with a few questions throughout the book and it seems comprehensive enough to help you with the test.

I used this book to study for my GED test. I passed all of my exams and received college ready scores for three of the four subjects. I highly recommend this book if you're planning on getting your GED!

Good book, worked well. Very informative. I will be keeping it for years as it is a very handy study book
