I drilled out the screw holes a little so I could rivet them to a kayak. 3M is great tape but it exposed to water it will fail. I used Marine silicone around the edges to further ensure theyWith the screw holes and rivets (or the included screws) you don't have to worry about them falling off. I'll be ordering some of these for my bass boat.

These lights are very bright, 5 stars for brightness. Each strand of wire is thin as hair and about 16 strands per wire, so be careful. These lights stretch, about 1/2 inch between each light once you remove the backing tape of the adhesive strip. Mine didn't even hold itself long enough to put mounting screws in. Once I put the first screw in, it cracked the plastic and the light fell 3 feet and hit the ground, breaking itself open.. Really really bad design. No way that the IP rating is over a 5-4. Water WILL intrude with dew buildup. This can be used for interior of car , but not marine use.. Part two, was sent new lights by boaton... I stand by my original assessment. There are gaps between plastic backing and side piece.. Light shines through cracks easily.. Salt water will ingress and pool inside lights. 2nd set they sent me didn't last two days of rain inside a 1 liter bottle with an inch cut out the side for a 180 degree rain guard. See pictures .. Trash 🗑🗑🗑.

I Purchased these lights to install them as reverse lights and I am sure glad I did they’re extremely bright and aluminate the rear of the vehicle quite well. as a matter fact I could’ve probably got away with just using one light.

I purchased a pair. The lights are ok as far as brightness. There are 7 single strands of wires that is the same gauge as your hair within the positive side & negative side. My opinion of the product is cheap junk. Period! I cleaned & prepped the area for adhesion and the double sided tape wouldn't even hold the weight of the product. Cheap "JUNK"!!!

The screws were so tiny hard to drill into the boat. Also if they get bumped they break easy.
