One of the absolute best tools, hands-down.
I could not believe that I actually got one of these for less than 50 or $60 which is where this model typically sits. Based on the photo I did not think that it would come with the little screwdriver, but it did. This is my third of the Victorian Knox compact and it’s one of my absolute favorites for just every day carry. Now I love a Leatherman as much as the Next guy or My larger Victorian Knox player multitool, but there are times where you don’t need or don’t want to carry such a large tool. This has your bare basics, your knife, the fantastic scissors which no other tool to this day in my opinion can still be And your basic flathead bottle opener, and all that jazz. It fits perfectly in your hand. It’s not an oversized tool, but it’s not so small. You’re gonna lose it like the tiny little keychain size ones the classic this is a great every day carry tool that for 99% of people will be able to do most things that you need to do. I personally could care less about the toothpick, but having the tweezers has come in handy many times and it’s also a very non-threatening knife you pull this thing out and no one bats and I at you because everybody knows what a Swiss Army knife is the quality is excellent as usual from Victoria Knox if you can get it for 39 or 40 bucks like I did pick one or two of them up, they’re just that good.

The absolute best EDC knife for a reason
I have had at least 3 dozen knives over the years, but the Compact was my first EDC knife. Some years ago, on a trip to Japan, I lost it. In the years since, I tried to replace it with a SAK Climber with plus scales, but I missed the Compact. You wouldn’t think a couple of extra mm mattered, but it really did.As a result, I bought another recently, and perhaps to my delight, I paid less than what I paid for it originally! What folks don't tell you about the Compact is that the key ring placement is unusual. As a result, none of the pocket clip solutions that you see available for Swiss Army Knives will work with the Compact. Some will balk at the fact that the Compact is more expensive than other knives, but what they don't know is that the Compact is one of the very few knives that is still hand-assembled, and as a result, it carries a premium in the Swiss Army lineup. On paper, the most glaring issue with the Compact is the lack of a Phillips, but in practice, the combination tool is an excellent stand-in and can tackle most emergency situations that call for one. The Compact is especially well-suited for a tool when you're outside of the house because ostensibly, if you happen to be inside the house, it might be fine to carry a heavier knife or multi-tool.While you could carry a smaller keychain tool, you lose out on the larger-size tools that the Compact provides. It is the perfect balance of feature and function that has made it impossible to beat.

Best for EDC
This has good overall form and size. The tools are great quality, especially the scissors. Having a pen, toothpick, and tweezers handy is very nice. I also purchased the tiny eyeglass screwdriver that screws in nicely into the corkscrew tool. I do wish that the file was larger, but at least there is one available.

The Compact is a slim Victorinox knife with great functions!
Great knife, but don't pay full price for it, which is too much. It typically goes on sale for about $39, which is a good price. Great functions, very slim (2 layers), easy to carry.

Useful Tool
Nice knife. Very sharp. Perfect pocket size. Good everyday carry tool/knife. Some of the tools on the knife may not be used like the hook. It is a Victorinox so expect good quality.

This is a great in-a-pinch tool
There's little point in going into the usual details about this knife since that's already been done to death. Basically, this is a great choice as a better-to-have-than-not tool that can handle many of life's every day problems. Just keep in mind that the combination tool is basically a compromise in all that it's meant to do (the reason for four stars). Too thin to be a serious prying tool, clumsy to use as a Phillips screwdriver, and just okay as a bottle/can opener. And despite the hate often given to the multipurpose hook, in addition to using it to hold the pen, it can hold any T-shank saw blade with some tape is wrapped around the shank for thickness. The Leatherman saw/file combo is perfect fit for this multitool (see photo).

The perfect SAK, lightweight and stripped of all unnecessary functions.
Received exactly as ordered. The knife is exactly what I need for everyday life, nothing more, nothing less.
